For those of you new to term Inbound Marketing it means to 'pull in' and 'attract' your target audience, it is permission based marketing.

Examples of Inbound Marketing are:

  • Search engine optimisation (SEO)
  • Social media marketing
  • Website
  • Blogging

The opposite is Outbound Marketing, which means to 'interrupt' and 'push' marketing messages to your audience, these are often poorly targeted and irrelevant, resulting in expensive marketing with a poor ROI.

Examples of Outbound Marketing are:

  • Poorly targeted advertising
  • Spam emails
  • Direct mail
  • Cold calling
