Izzy Learns Inbound Marketing Part 2: Making the Decision

Posted by Stacie Chalmers on 20-Jan-2011 02:00:00

In the last blog article Izzy began researching Inbound Marketing to see if it could help him achieve his sales targets for 2011. He heard about the Hubspot software, and after reviewing their customer case studies, and learning that other businesses were experiencing huge growth in their leads and conversions, Izzy was convinced that Hubspot was the right choice to help him grow his business in 2011.

After reviewing the different packages available, Izzy spent some time trying to work out which price point was going to be right for him. Based on a conservative figure of 50 leads per month, the medium package meant that each lead would cost him $15. Izzy’s conversion rate was 10% which meant a new customer would cost him $150. Because each new client is worth $2,500 in revenue, at a minimum, this was definately a good solution for Izzy. His figures were conservative but Izzy wanted to be sure that financially this was the right move. Based on what he learnt from the case studies, Izzy realized that his leads could be up around 100 per month within 6-12 months, Izzy knew that using the Hubspot tools and Inbound Marketing Methodology he could also increase his conversion rate from 10%, to a possible 15%.

Looking at what he was already spending on paid online ads, industry print ads and trade shows, Izzy realized in 6 months he could cancel the ads, which would be an added bonus to his bottom line. More leads, more conversions and lower cost per lead, Izzy knew his boss would be happy. And not only will Izzy have a stronger market position and be able to take market share from his competitors, his strategic presence on the web will help grow the market, giving him an even larger possible revenue opportunity.

The decision is made, the medium package it is! Izzy could hardly wait to sign up and get his website live.

Izzy now needs to get to work. Keywords, SEO, writing content, lead nurturing…

In the next issue Izzy reviews the latest Inbound Marketing research to learn what has been working best for other companies so he can decide where to spend his time and develop an effective action plan. Don't miss the next blog article - subscribe today!
